Weekends of Fulfillment

The past weekends have been busy with a mix of personal and book-related events. Every time Witch Hunt goes home with a new reader, it fills my heart with so much joy.
My ten-year high school reunion happened a couple weekends ago. I was overwhelmed by how many of my former classmates congratulated me, praised the book, or bought a copy to take home. Part of my journey as an Indie author has been battling imposter syndrome. Even after writing, editing, publishing, selling, marketing I still feel like I am not a "real author". When people I haven't seen or talked to in a decade told me they loved my book or bought it as soon as it was released, part of me didn't even believe it. It was truly amazing to experience. And a week later, I woke up to a text from a former classmate telling me she had stayed up until 3 In the morning to finish reading because of how much she loved it. There are no words to describe the feeling.
The next weekend, I did a signing at Blush &
Bashful Romance Bookshop in Hopkinsville, KY. To be able to set up in a different city and meet new people was such a fun experience. One of my childhood friends came out to get a copy of Witch Hunt, and a few of the bookshop's customers came in because they saw the promotion on social media. It made me feel really special and excited to share my book with eager readers. One of my longtime friends stopped by to see me and get his book signed as well. He said he had to come see his "favorite author", and that warmed a special place in my heart.
Being an Indie author and working a full-time job can be a lot to juggle, but moments like these make it all so worth it. Thank you to everyone who has
helped make this dream a reality.
