First Book Event

Last weekend, I had the exciting opportunity to set up a booth at a local book event in my hometown. Living in Nashville is wonderful for meeting people and networking, but something about having this event so close to where I grew up was both surreal and heartwarming.
The Arts Alliance put on a "Grown Up Book Fair" on Saturday February 1st. I was lucky to get a spot and have the chance to connect with fellow book lovers...and I sold out within the first HOUR. All I could think was "wow, is this really happening?". I was surrounded by talented and creative vendors with tables full of bookish goodies, and yet so many people came to talk to me about my book. Witch Hunt drew so many people to my table, and I am so excited for everyone to read the story and get lost in the world I created.
Publishing a book is a bit scary sometimes. It's like showing the barest part of your mind to friends, family, and strangers alike. But the enthusiasm this project has been met with has been so inspiring. My nerves were quickly swallowed by excitement.
I truly cannot wait for the next opportunity to share my story with people on a personal level like this. Also, I'd like to take the space here to thank a few people who made this experience extra special.
My brother, Michael, drove over an hour to see me at my first event and take photos. My mom and sister stopped by to check out the event and see me. And my best friend stayed with me for a couple of hours and shared my excitement with nothing but support and love. And of course, thank you to The Arts Alliance for letting me be a part of your event.
I'm grateful for everyone who stopped my table and gave my story a chance, and I'm excited to have met so many wonderful book lovers.
Stay tuned on my social media to see what event I'll be at next!
